Custom Control Panels
SAI build and ship panels all over the world.
SAI are a UL 508A panel shop, allowing panels to be either 'built-to' or UL listed by SAI.

Panels are function tested prior to shipment. Depending on size and complexity of job onsite commissioning maybe included.
HMI Development
Our custom generator control panels or local control panels may include HMI touch displays. Panels may include HMI displays from Rockwell Automation Panelview Plus with RSView ME development suite or Schneider’s Magelis family with the Vijeo Designer.
The HMI touch panels vary in size from 5” to 18” depending on manufacturer and panel requirements.

PLC Programming
As part of the custom control panel build, SAI may design, develop PLC logic (programmable logic control) to meet custom operation requirements. SAI specialize in the Allen-Bradley families of PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, SLC, & PLC5), however other manufacturers’ controllers, such as GE, Siemens, Schneider, ComAp, Woodward, and Basler can be provided.
PLC Development
- Creating the ladder logic and native tags in the processor
- Wiring local and field devices to digital and/or analog I/O cards
- Communicating with various devices, such as engine modules, power monitors, and protective relays over different protocols, such as:
- Modbus
- Canbus
- CAT Data Link (CDL)
- Integration into SCADA / DCS systems, either in the native tag format of the processor, such as L5K, or via Modbus.
Our custom PLC solutions typically provide controls for gas or diesel engine-driven generators used for prime power or standby power. We provide controls for other engine driven applications including pumps and motors.
System management and monitoring is performed by local HMI, or remotely over VPN with web application access.
PLC Integration
Depending on the customer requirements; we can include standard, redundant or SIL2 rated PLC integration. We can provide PLC controls only or provide and integrate low or medium voltage switchgear as a turn-key system.
UL Standards and Certification
Our control panels are built to UL standards and are available with UL-listing upon request. For non-hazardous locations panels can be offered with UL/cUL 508A rev 3. For classified locations, we can UL-list per UL/cUL 1203 or 1604 for explosion-proof / hazardous location (HazLoc) CID1 or CID2.
